And of course what’s telling about this is the current ‘crisis’ the seemingly now unavoidable downfall of New Labour is based on financial indiscretions- not fradulent WMD’s for the purpose of foreign invasion, not the wholesale misbehaviour of banking systems leading to global economic collapse, not the violent lawlessness of the police (remember that) but fradulent EXPENSES claims by politicians.
The relentless scare-mongering and facile celebrity overload of the media, the total control ushering forth from print, screen and sound- hatred against immigrants, hatred against religion, even hatred against our own kids has led to the BNP gaining 2 seats in Europe. This should be taken with a certain amount of sanity- their vote was actually down on last time but it was the move away from Labour that allowed them in through proportional representation. BUT, it does show what can always potentially be around the corner. The devestation of 2 world war’s was not wrought by alien monsters beamed down from space- they were the results of fear and hatred engendered through severe economic collapse and media control. Sound familiar….?
